Celebrations as Trinity Academy students help achieve the best ever results in the academy’s history

Trinity Academy Halifax today announced that students are celebrating the best ever results in the academy’s history with 81% of students securing a C or above in English and Maths. 77% of students achieved five or more A* – C grades (including English and Maths), continuing an upward trend of year-on-year increases in results.

Academy students continue to buck national trends, with the percentage of students securing their grade C in English Language/ Literature increasing to 92%. Maths maintained their strong history of a grade C or above with 81%. Many students achieved coveted A* grades. The academy is non-selective, and invests heavily in teaching and learning to ensure that students can achieve their full potential.

Principal Mr James Franklin-Smith comments: “Every results day is special, it is wonderful to speak to delighted students and parents who are receiving confirmation of how their hard work has paid off. We are delighted that this year students have set a new record for overall results. This is a real testament to the hard work of all and as Principal, I would like to congratulate all involved.”

“We are a non-selective academy, and we support our young people to achieve the best possible results and encourage them to plan to compete at the highest possible level for university places and jobs. It is startling that 70% of the top jobs in this country are filled by those who are privately educated – yet only 4% of the population are privately educated. The results our students work so hard for put them in the position where they can change this. Today marks the start of the next chapter for our students, many of whom are returning to our 6th Form and will undoubtedly build on this year’s best ever A-level results and record numbers of students moving on to the top universities in the UK.
