Three tier support
Teachers are friendly and approachable; they respect you as young adults.
Students always have a range of staff members available to support them at any given time. Our Three Tier support system means that students can rely on teachers, form tutors and Personal Progress Tutors (PPTs) to provide them with the support they need in order to achieve academic and personal success.
We believe that face-to-face communication is crucial in supporting students, and within our relatively small student community, such meeting time is embedded into our working week. Students have access to their subject teacher timetables so staff are available to support. Students also attend a daily tutorial session to meet and build positive relationships with their allocated form tutor; these dedicated form tutors are selected based on their experience of 6th Form and their abilities as pastoral leaders.
Students are assigned a Personal Progress Tutor (PPT), a unique relationship that focuses on academic and pastoral support. PPTs meet formally with students every week; however, they continuously monitor students on a daily basis. They become the student’s liaison for all aspects of 6th Form life and will be the first point of contact in any circumstance.
