Challenging students through Outward Bound

Challenging students through Outward Bound

Our new Year 11 students recently experienced a challenging Outward Bound trip to Ogwen Cottage in Snowdonia. On this, they stretched their personal skills and learnt about the importance of resilience and having a positive mental attitude.

Outward Bound trips help students to enjoy an experience where they are stretched and challenged in an outdoor setting, and develop life-skills that cannot be gained in the classroom.

Year 11 students experienced a trip to Ogwen Cottage in Snowdonia where they canoed, climbed, abseiled and took part in an overnight expedition in the mountains. These were highly challenging and were used to build teamwork, communication, leadership and resilience skills – all of which will be vital as they approach their GCSEs. Places on the Year 11 trip and are limited, with teachers nominating students that they feel have the most to gain from the experience

Outward Bound runs in Year 7 and Year 11, two key points in a student’s academic career. Parents will receive further information at these points.
