Could you train to teach at Trinity Academy or another local school?

Trinity Academy is the lead school within the Trinity Teaching School Alliance, and offers School Direct training placements

Trinity Academy is the lead school within the Trinity Teaching School Alliance (TTSA). The TTSA runs the School Direct programme, meaning degree holders can train to teach and become a qualified primary or secondary school teacher within a year. Applications are now being taken for training placements commencing in September 2017.

Trinity Academy is a host school for trainees, and this helps us to train and develop an outstanding workforce for the benefit of our students. The Teaching School works with other schools across Calderdale to train and host teachers and there are a wide range of placements available in primary schools and across secondary level subjects.

Applications for the programme are made via UCAS, but the TTSA is happy to provide support and advice to support the application process. School experience days can also be arranged for those applicants who may need to gain some direct experience in order to support their application. Trinity Academy is currently offering school experience places across a range of departments.

The UCAS application window is open, and the Teaching School hosts regular Information Events throughout the year. The number of primary places and for each subject at a secondary level are determined by the Government. Once the total numbers are reached, the application window closes and no more applications are taken until the following year; early application is therefore encouraged.
